Chapter 1 Physical Examination

　　"Take off your clothes and lie down on the table."

　　In a sterile white room, the doctors frigid command echoed around.

　　Jennifer Gaynor, a beautiful young girl who just turned eighteen, numbly removed her clothes and lay on the operating table, obeying the doctors orders. Tear stains dotted the crisp blue sheets.

　　Jennifer turned her face aside, not to look the disdain in the doctors eyes. It was the first time she had ever bared herself so vulnerably in front of anyone.

　　The cold instruments entered her body and Jennifer felt her life slipping away into the darkness as well. Most girls at this age were either chasing after boys or dreaming about college life. While Jennifer was choosing a wholly different path, being a surrogate mother.

　　Jennifer gritted her teeth and endured the discomfort coming from her body. About an hour later, the ordeal finally came to an end.

　　"All finished." the doctors cold voice cut through the silence.

　　Jennifer propped herself up with difficulty and let out a long breath. The first part was over and she was one step closer to receiving her compensation.

　　Her oval face revealed a small smile. Her long black hair was matted with sweat and stuck together from the tension and pain. Her thin shoulders were barely visible under the wide t-shirt, which only served to accentuate her gaunt frame.

　　A man in a suit was waiting at the door. When he saw Jennifer out, he coldly swept a glance at her, then asked the doctor in a low voice, "What are the test results?"

　　"She is clean. You got nothing to worry about."

　　Jennifers face reddened with shame at the realization that they were discussing her health condition as if she were nothing more than a commodity.

　　Jennifer knew very little about the man except that his name was Alex Borg and that he worked for her employer. Jennifer decided to address the man who had commissioned her services as "employer." He was a total mystery, except that he offered her a staggering sum of five million dollars to become his surrogate mother.

　　Alex nodded to the doctor and turned to Jennifer.

　　"Ms. Gaynor, the car is waiting downstairs."

　　Jennifer got into a car with Alex and they headed for the place where Jennifer would be staying for the foreseeable future.

　　"Ms. Gaynor, there are some rules I must inform you of. You cant leave the villa until you are pregnant. After each fertilization, boss will pay you a substantial amount of money. Todays payment has already been transferred to your account."

　　Jennifer listened to Alex with wrung hands and when she heard she already got some money, she felt relieved.

　　"Can I make phone calls?" her voice was timid.

　　"Of course," said Alex, "Youre not being restricted freedom. All you need to do is get pregnant."

　　"I understand."

　　Jennifers hands clenched so tightly that her knuckles were white.

　　"Your room is ready with all the necessary amenities, and I will be dropping off food for you every day. Oh, and the paperwork is ready, so you can sign it at any time."

　　Jennifer took the contract from Alex with trembling hands.

　　To save her sisters life, Jennifer was willing to do anything. She knew once she signed it, her whole life was ruined. But Jeanne needed the money for surgery.

　　Jennifer wiped away her tears and signed her name on it.

　　"Mr. Borg, will he come tonight?"

　　"Yes, thats the plan."

　　As the car pulled up in front of a villa, Jennifer had the feeling that her world was about to be turned upside down.
